Virginia Camarena's Obituary
Virginia Zapata Camarena from Houston, Tx was a loving and selfless person. She left this world too soon; on February 26, 2026 at the age of 64. She was an aunt/mother to her niece and great nephews. She was a dear friend to many.
Virginia was born on June 4, 1961 in San Angelo Tx; to Victor and Rosa(Zapata) Camarena. She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings; Carlos Camarena, Mary(Andy)Lopez, and Elsa(Charlie)Juarez. She is survived by her one remaining sibling Elizabeth Williams of Elmendorf, Tx; nieces Victoria Lopez of Granbury, Tx; Elizabeth Juarez of Houston, Tx, Adrienne Juarez of San Angelo, Tx, and Rosa Lopez of Granbury, Tx; nephew Mark Aguero of San Angelo, Tx; great nephews Charlie Mikula and Anthony Martinez both of Houston, Tx; and many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews nieces and friends whom she adored.
After graduating from Lake View High School in 1980, she went on to work at Levi’s Strauss in San Angelo, Tx for many years. She later moved to Houston, Tx and took the role as nanny for her two young nieces Melissa and Emily Vasquez; daughters of Michael and Claudia Vasquez whom she loved very much. She took care of them as a mother would. After completing her time with them she took on another caregiving role to her niece Elizabeth’s two boys Charlie and Anthony. She was more of a mother/grandmother to them ; and spent her last 15 years with them. We are devastated at the loss of our sweet and selfless Tia Virginia. Anyone who knew her knew that she was a great listener and was always ready to give her support. She would do anything to make a person feel better. She was bold, loving, and funny. Our world will not be the same without her. She will be remembered for her kind smile and sense of humor.
