Thomas Robert Cook July 11, 1954 – July 14th, 2026
TOM COOK, 72 of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 14th surrounded by the love and the warmth of his family. Tom leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, kindness, and lifelong friendships. He believed every challenge can be overcome with hard work, loyalty and heart.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13
Tom was born July 11th, 1954 in Springfield, IL to his late mother, Margaret Anne McCarthy and his late father, Jack Dean Cook. Tom grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He graduated from Snider High School in 1972 where he enjoyed playing football and swimming.
In the early 80’s, Tom moved to Texas and built a successful career in the hospitality industry, working alongside chefs, country clubs and hospitality professionals. A true foodie, he loved great food, travel, golf and the lifelong friendships he made throughout his career.
In 2001, Tom partnered with C&T Design & Equipment Company helping build the Houston location from the ground up. Over the next 25 years, his loyalty, integrity and genuine care earned the respect of his colleagues and customers alike. He left a lasting mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him and work alongside him.
Tom is survived by his beloved wife; Evelyn Young and their family, Katlin, Devin and Felix. His sister; Maureen Cook Rehmer (Brian) of Fort Wayne, Indiana. His sister in law Martha Cook of Lake Mary, Florida. His nieces; Megan Bermes (Louie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Amanda Mafinejad (Amir) of Saint Johns, Florida. Marilee Hochstein (Matt) of Sanford, Florida, Elizabeth Greene (Michael) of McCordsville, Indiana. Katie Alliger (Luke) of North Olmsted, Ohio. He is also survived by 9 great nieces and great nephews, with 2 more on the way;
Tom was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Christopher Cook.
Tom’s memory will live on through the countless lives he touched. He showed us that kindness, loyalty, friendship, and sharing a great meal are among life’s greatest blessings.
