Ruben Tellez Jr. (Pipo), a beloved father, son, brother, and cherished member of the Houston community, passed away at the age of 38.
Born in Eagle Lake, Texas, to Emily Hernandez and the late Ruben Martinez Tellez, Ruben lived a life defined by hard work, immense generosity, and an infectious joy. As a successful business owner in the air conditioning industry, Ruben was known for his sharp work ethic and dedication to his craft. However, his true legacy lies in the profound love he had for his family and his unwavering commitment to helping others.
The moment Ruben walked into a room, his happiness was instantly felt by everyone around him. He lived to give back. On the first of every month, Ruben could be found participating in community outreach—joyfully giving free haircuts and feeding the homeless. He believed in lifting others up and poured his heart into making the world a kinder place.
Above all accomplishments, Ruben’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his children and his family deeply, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and beautiful memories.
Ruben is survived by his loving mothers, Emily Hernandez and Rosa Montiel his three adored children, Noah Tellez, Andrew Tellez, and Isabella Tellez; his brothers, John Hernandez, Jeremy Hernandez, and Abdias Miranda Jr.; and his beloved sisters, Maria McCallie and Miriam Moya. He also leaves behind a host of extended family, friends, and grateful community members who will miss his bright smile and generous soul.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ruben Martinez Tellez; his maternal grandparents, Guadalupe and Eloisa Hernandez; his paternal grandparents, Agustin and Diamantina Tellez; and his grandmother, Maria Luisa Martinez.
