Minerva Solis, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Houston, Texas, on June 22, 2025, at the age of 85. She was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments, leaving behind a legacy of deep love and devotion that her family will forever cherish.
Minerva was born in 1939 in Guardado de Arriba, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to her devoted parents, Gertrudis and Francisca Guerra. She carried the values of strength, compassion, and unwavering faith throughout her life—values that shaped her family and inspired all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband of over 54 years, Hector Solis, and their daughters: Marbelia Cantu (Pablo Jr.), Marlen Rodriguez (Noe), and Marisela Solis. Her memory lives on through her seven grandchildren, who brought her immense joy: Elizabeth Rodriguez, Francisco Rodriguez, Noe Rodriguez Jr. (JR), Paul Cantu (Camran), Karina Rodriguez, Alex Rodriguez, and Aaron Rodriguez. Each of them carries a piece of her love and guidance in their hearts. She is also survived by her two brothers, Gertrudis Guerra and Guillermo Guerra.
Minerva's home was a place of warmth, tradition, and laughter—a gathering place where everyone felt welcome. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought wisdom, and her love was the quiet strength that held her family together.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on June 27, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hernandez Funeral Home, 13623 Perry Road, Houston, Texas 77070.
Minerva Solis will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. May she rest in peace.
