In Loving Memory of Marta Suarez
Marta Suarez, 85, of Houston, Texas, peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 29, 2026. She was born on February 25, 1941, in Weslaco, Texas, to Luisa Suarez and Isaac Thomas.
Marta was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Atilano Suarez and Dolores Guerrero; her mother, Luisa Suarez; her twin sister, Mary Williams; her daughter, Sylvia Palacios; her infant son; and several cherished aunts and uncles.
She is lovingly remembered by her children, David Lozano; Elsa Cisneros and her husband, Mark; and Delia Gonatas and her husband, Anthony. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Marta found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading, learning about herbs, coloring, and, above all, spending time with her family. She had a remarkable gift for making people laugh and was well known for her jokes. One of her favorite sayings was, “Let’s go galavanting!” Those words perfectly reflected her joyful spirit, sense of adventure, and love of making memories with the people she cherished.
A woman of deep and unwavering faith, Marta was a devoted Christian whose life reflected the love of Christ. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in the 1970s at Shady Acres Baptist Church, where she faithfully sang in the choir for many years. It was through our mother’s love for Jesus and her commitment to bringing us to church that we came to know God, a gift that forever changed our lives. She loved unconditionally and wholeheartedly, always choosing kindness, forgiveness, and grace. She saw the good in everyone she met and believed deeply in forgiveness and second chances. Her compassion, gentle spirit, and steadfast faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Nothing brought Marta greater happiness than being surrounded by her family. They were the center of her world, and the memories they created together will be treasured for generations. Her legacy of faith, love, laughter, and forgiveness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Marta will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Her warm phone calls, infectious sense of humor, unwavering love, and faithful prayers leave an emptiness that cannot be filled. Though our hearts grieve her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the arms of her Savior.
Her family will forever cherish the love she shared, the lessons she taught, and the joy she brought into their lives. While we mourn her passing, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life and find peace in knowing she has been welcomed home by her Heavenly Father.
