I was lucky enough to have a revolving door of aunts uncles and cousins in my childhood home. Aunt Toni was always fixing my hair and making me dress up like I was her real life doll. As I got older, she was still someone I would go to for fashion and antiques advice because she always and kept up with with all styles. She was an example to look up to in how she was proud of her home, her husband and her family. She taught me to protect my peace.
Aunt Toni lived a life filled with love, laughter, and faith. We have to find peace in knowing she is now resting in the arms of the Lord. Thank you, Aunt Toni, for your prayers, your unwavering love, and the beautiful memories you gave us. As hard as it is to say goodbye, there’s comfort in knowing she is now in heaven reunited with so many of our loved ones — including Aunt Mimi and my dad. Inside, I have always had a sense of peace…of freedom…in knowing my aunts and uncles were there for me no matter what. I don’t know how to move on without her support but I think the best way we can honor her now is by holding onto that same love and closeness with each other now.
