Gurvis McWilliams Jr, 74, of Alvin, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2026 at 5:55am at Harbor Hospice. He was born in Wood County, Parkersburg, WVa. Son of the late Gurvis senior and Lola B, McWilliams.
Gurvis was a devoted husband to his surviving wife Marjorie Ann McWilliams (Tate) for fifty-three years. He was a loving father to his children Sean Patrick McWilliams, and daughter Heather Michelle Brown (McWilliams)S. He was a proud grandfather to Tristan Dakota Thompson and Sebastian Cole Thompson and their children. Gurvis found joy in creating art, model trains and appreciated model ships. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and rare perspective on life.
Gurvis’ ability to find humor in the mundane minutia of life will be greatly missed.
Gurvis will be cremated according to his final wishes.
