Gary Wayne Pietsch's Obituary
Gary Wayne Pietsch, who passed away suddenly on June 10, 2026, at his home in the Spring Branch area of Houston, TX.
Gary was born to Linda Jo Atchley and Bobby Ray McGill on August 11, 1958, in Houston, and was later adopted by Herman Pietsch in 1966. In his youth, Gary loved to dance, taking lessons in Spring Branch and appearing on the Larry Kane Show in the early 1970s. He studied acting, Jazz dance, makeup, and modeling at Houston Community College from 1987-88. Gary worked for many years as a dedicated waiter in the restaurant business, notably earning an Employee of the Month award from Casa Ole. He also had a great love for cooking especially cheese enchiladas, homemade pizza, and blackberry pie. Gary had a deep affection for cats, having rescued and adopted many throughout his lifetime, his last cat named Teeny was a wonderful companion, and he was deeply saddened when she passed away.
Gary is survived by his loving sisters, Vanessa Perez, Cyndy Crellen, and Dianna Koslan; his aunts, Nancy Adams, Susan Atchley, Betty Pietsch and Ginny Pietsch along with several nephews, nieces, cousins, and close friends, including Carolyn Roberts, Eileen Stuhr, and Sharon Pyle among others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Linda Jo Atchley Pietsch and Herman August Pietsch; his grandparents, Emory and Edith Atchley, whom he dearly loved, and Robert and Lenora Pietsch; his uncles, Danny, Johnny, and David Atchley, Edward and Gus Pietsch; and his great-grandparents, Robert and Sadie Stanley.
A memorial service will be held on August 2, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at:
