Desi Rene Medina's Obituary
Desi Rene Medina, age 44, passed on August 14, 2025, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Houston, Texas on September 13, 1980, to his parents, Bertha Vela Medina and Daniel F. Medina.
Desi was a very giving and caring man. He was always willing to help others. He enjoyed listening to music, especially Tejano music. He loved playing his drums and watching sports, especially his favorite teams, the Houston Astros and Dallas Cowboys.
Desi was known for being a jokester and was always up for a good laugh and just making people smile. He loved drinking his Coca Cola and a cold Bud Light. He loved his family and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bertha Vela Medina and Daniel F. Medina, his brother, Daniel Medina, Jr., and nephew, Mark Anthony Villegas.
Desi is survived by three sisters and one brother: Debra Villegas and her husband Louis of Houston, Texas; Delma Trevino and her husband Tory of Friendswood, Texas; Delia Martinez and her husband Juan of Spring, Texas, David Medina and his wife Perla of Humble, Texas; as well as Sister-in-Law, Rosa Medina of Conroe, Texas. He is also survived by an extended family which includes many nieces and nephews.
He was blessed with five children: Linda Medina and her finance Nicholas Jones; Rebecca Medina and her spouse Humberto Cervantes; Samuel Medina, Jacob Medina, and Aliyah Medina. Desi was blessed with three grandchildren, Ali M. Jones, Amelia J. Jones, and Rebecca Z. Cervantes, all of Houston, Texas.
A public visitation will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Herandez Funeral Home located at 13623 Perry Road, Houston, Texas 77070.
A celebration of life will begin at 6:00 p.m. led by Pastor Tory Trevino.
