Cynthia Lopez Garibay's Obituary
Cynthia Lopez Garibay, affectionally known as Cindy, age 63, was born in Houston, Texas and passed away on March 4, 2026 in her hometown of Houston.
Cindy was a vibrant spirit who loved to dance, listen to music, and spend time surrounded by her family and friends. Her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She was a passionate advocate for the Williams Syndrome Association in honor of her beloved grandson Cash, as well as many other organizations close to her heart.
Cindy dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She began her career as a teacher's aide and worked in various positions throughout the years. Before her retirement, she served as a caregiver for the elderly, a role in which she poured her compassion, patience, and kindness into every day.
Her Christian faith was central to her life, and she was a devoted member to Grace Church Garden Oaks.
Cindy is survived by her daughter Michelle and husband Arthur; her sons Alex and Corey Garibay; her grandchildren Briana, ReeAnn, Jayce, Frankie, Cash and Bianca; and her great-grandson Mateo Jude. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who loved her deeply.
She is preceded in death by her father Manuel Lopez; her mother Beatrice and stepfather Guadalupe Arriaga; her sister Mary Novak; her brothers Manuel and David Lopez; and her son Francisco Garibay.
Cindy will be remembered for her love of her Texas teams the Houston Texans and Houston Astros, her loving heart, her joyful energy, and the love she showed her family, and friends. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
