With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Celia Reyes Gonzales, (Tita) who entered eternal rest surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 22, 1932, to Benito Reyes and Dora Rendon.
She is proceeded in death by her Beloved Husband Johnny Gonzales Jr., Son Robert Gonzales, Daughter in Law Elizabeth Gonzales, Son in Law Pedro Lopez, Grandsons Moses and Peter Christopher Lopez.
She is survived by her children Gloria J. Lopez and Sally Gil and Husband Joe Gil. Grandchildren, Michelle & Husband Billy Ortiz, Thomas & Wife Shelly Gil, Angela Gonzales Solis, Yvonne & Husband Ernest Rodriguez, Joe & Wife Rosa Gil, Jennifer & Husband Jose Reyna, John & Wife Melissa Gil, Walter & Crystal Hernandez and Numerous Great and Great Great Grandchildren.
Although Celia was her given name, she was lovingly known as “Tita” to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren – a name that, over the years, became how everyone knew her. It was more than a nickname; it was a symbol of the love, warmth, and care she shared so generously.
Anyone who ever met Tita instantly fell in love with her. She had a wonderful sense of humor and always the center of attention. She loved the Holidays and Birthday get togethers. She would wait by the door for hours, ready to be picked up and eager to attend any gathering. She never wanted to miss an opportunity to spend time with the people she loved. Always ready to listen to music and spend time with family. What a beautiful and full life she lived. Always ready to dance and listen to tejano music or oldies. Talking about old times was her favorite thing to do. Her stories were long and beautiful.
Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind-the laughter she shared, the stories she told, the music she loved, and the unconditional love she gave so freely. Her legacy will live on through her family and all whose lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
