Billy Joe Lewandowski of Houston, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the age of 73. Though he will be deeply missed, he leaves behind a legacy of hard work, love, and unforgettable memories that will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Billy Joe was the beloved son of the late Albin and Albina Lewandowski. He attended Sam Houston High School and later built a career as an oilfield mechanic, dedicating more than 25 years to his profession before retiring at the age of 62. He took great pride in his work and was known for his exceptional craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and willingness to help others. His dedication and reliability earned the respect of everyone who worked alongside him.
He was a devoted father to his daughter, Julie Ann Moore. He was also a proud and cherished grandfather to Julien DeRose Hill, Arianna Rose Moore, and Aydn Ezekiel Moore. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, creating memories they will treasure forever. Billy Joe shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Lady, who was much more than a pet - she was his faithful companion and loyal best friend. Lady was by his side through life’s many adventures, offering unconditional love, comfort, and unwavering companionship. Their bond was truly one of a kind, and she brought him immeasurable joy throughout the years. She was a cherished part of his life and held a permanent place in heart.
Billy Joe had a deep love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing, deer hunting, paragliding, floating the river, and spending time in nature. Whether he was sharing stories around a campfire or enjoying a quiet day outdoors, he appreciated life’s simple pleasures and the time spent with those he loved.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and generous spirit. Billy Joe had a way of making others feel welcome and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His warmth, wisdom, and sense of humor will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Billy Joe is survived by his loving daughter, Julie Ann Moore; his son-in-law, Adrian Ezekiel Moore; and his beloved grandchildren, Julien DeRose Hill, Arianna Rose Moore, and Aydn Ezekiel Moore. He was preceded in death by his parents, Albin and Albina Lewandowski.
Although he is no longer with us, Billy Joe’s love, values, and the memories he created will continue to live on through those who loved him. He will be forever missed, lovingly remembered, and always held close in our hearts.
