Annabelle V. Hurtado's Obituary
Annabelle Hurtado (nee Vigil) passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at the age of 77. Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico on December 28, 1946, to Elvira Tafoya Vigil and George Blas Vigil. She graduated from Highland High School, and while attending St. Joseph’s College in Albuquerque, NM, Annabelle met and fell in love with Ernest Anthony Hurtado. They were married on July 26, 1969, and would faithfully marry for 55 years. She loyally worked for many, but the latter at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for 25 years until she retired in 2008. Annabelle and Ernie resided in Dallas, TX, for 40+ years but recently moved to Houston in August 2024 to be closer to family. She was preceded in death by her son, Daryl Anthony, her younger brother, Burt L. Vigil, and her parents, Elvira T. and George B. Vigil. She is survived by her husband, Ernest A. Hurtado, her daughter, Krista Renee’ Dooley (Patrick), and her three granddaughters: Audrey Kathleen, Emily Grace, and Trinity Marie. Daughter, Sister, Cousin, Niece, Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother, and loyal friend, Annabelle will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be revered in Dallas, TX, in the Summer of 2025, and the Interment will be anticipated in the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
